It’s really good to have the first stop of the World Series in the system and out of the way. Nerves and tension were high. No one is sure what form their competitors are in. Abu Dhabi is a new course to the WTS calendar which also added to the excitement.
It’s great to be back in the game this year. I’m happy with 15th as its a solid WTS result. It shows the hard work I have been doing on my running is paying off, and bagging those Olympic points. Although I was feeling sluggish and bloated in my stomach during the race, I think I could’ve had a better result. I didn’t have the swim I wanted to have, but happy with my bike strength and positioning during the race. I struggled with the first lap of the run but I managed to get into some kind of rhythm and move back up the field again.
I’m really excited to race Auckland in 3 weeks time. It’s a true triathlon course because it tough and there is no hiding in it!
