Thoughts on WTS Cape Town

Firstly, it was a huge privilege to race in front of a home crowd! A big thank you to all the people who came out there and supported. The course was great and racing through the stadium with the electrifying crowd was a spectacular experience! I am really disappointed I never rose to my expectations for the race. 30th is not close to what I am capable of achieving. On the day, my body was not ready to race. I had many issues during the race and I was not able to bring it home in the end.

It was a pity that the swim was shortened. It felt better (warmer) than last year. Although it was shortened it wouldn’t have changed the fact that I was struggling on the day anyway.

I’m going to take some learning experiences from this, work on improving on them and being 100% ready for my next events!

I have African Champs up next weekend. I hope to retain my title for the 3rd consecutive time. I then go onto WTS Yokohama the next weekend.
